Frequently Asked Questions

The projector doesn't start when I turn on the power. What could the problem be?
Check the following:
- Be sure that the power cord is properly connected to the projector and plugged into the electricity outlet.
- Turn on the main power switch.
- Check if the lamp lid is open.
- The airflow passage may be blocked. Check to see if the air inlet/outlet vents or air filter are clogged with dust or another object. If so, remove/clean the passage.

Why does the power indicator blink red when I turn on the projector?
The reason may be one of the following:
- The projector was turned on again too soon after it was turned off. Wait for the lighting sequence to correct itself.
- The power switch was turned off while the fan was running, during or after lamp operation. Repeatedly turn the power switch on and off several times.
- The room temperature is too high for proper operation.
- If the lamp is not working, it may be burnt out. Replace it with a new lamp.

The power indicator blinks between red and green. What is wrong?
Check the following:
- Make sure the filter cover is closed correctly.
- If either the lamp or temperature indicator is on or blinking, the main unit requires repair. Contact your Mitsubishi Electric dealership.

The projector is running, but no image is being projected?
Check the following:
- Make sure the lens cap has been removed.
- Make sure the data source device is turned on an operating properly.
- Make sure the cables between the data source device and projector are connected correctly.
- Make sure that the correct input source has been selected.

The projector suddenly stopped projecting the image. What happened?
The projector may have overheated. The airflow passage may be blocked. Turn off the main power switch and check to see if the air inlet/outlet vents or air filter are clogged with dust or another object. If so, remove/clean the passage, and leave the projector turned off for 10 minutes. Turn on the projector and resume.

Why is the image projected distorted?
The projector may not be perpendicular to the screen. Adjust the projector so that it sits at a right angle (90-degrees) to the screen. If the image still seems distorted, try using the Digital Keystone Correction function.

The image projected is blurry. How can this be corrected?
Check the following:
- The projection distance may be beyond the focus area capability of the model you own. Refer to the specifications in the User's Manual, and adjust the projection distance accordingly.
- The lens may be dirty. If so, clean it.
- The image projection size may exceed specifications. Reduce it to between 40-300".
- Brightness and/or contrast may need correction. Adjust accordingly.
- Fine adjustment may not have been done. Conduct fine adjustment.
- Tracking may need to be adjusted. Adjust tracking.
- The projector may not be perpendicular to the screen. Adjust the projector so that it sits at a right angle (90-degrees) to the screen. If the image still seems distorted, try using the Digital Keystone Correction function.

There are red/green/blue dots when text is displayed. What's wrong?
This is a normal condition. There is nothing wrong.

The image projected on the screen is distorted and a noise is being emitted from the projector. What is the problem?
Check the following:
- The cable from the data source device may not be securely plugged into the projector terminal. Make sure the connecting cable is securely plugged into the terminal.
- The projector and data source device are located too close to each other. Increase the distance between the projector and data source devices.

Why is there no sound accompanying the image?
Check the following:
- Make sure the volume control is turned on and set at the desired level.
- Make sure that the cables between the data source device and projector are all connected correctly.

Why doesn't anything happen when I try to make adjustments to the projector?
There may be electrical noise or interference preventing operation of the controls. Press the reset button on the terminal board, and try making adjustments again.

Why is there hot air being blown out of the exhaust vents?
This is part of the equipment cooling process, and is common for projection systems.
